| Pastor Vincent Lee Harris is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia. Born to the late Wilbur L. Harris and Veria J. Gibson on November 05, 1967. Through the marital union of his mother, Pastor Harris has been blessed to have a loving and devoted step father Olanda Gibson Jr and one sister, Sheena Gibson. Pastor Harris is a 1986 graduate of Churchland High School. He attended Norfolk State University and he graduated on June, 2001 from Roanoke Theological Seminary, Elizabeth City, North Carolina, with a Bachelor of Divinity and a Certificate in Church Music. Pastor Harris is married to his loving wife Deidra and they reside in Chesapeake, Virginia with their two children Kevin and Johnea'. Much of his Christian development occurred at Grove Baptist Church, where Dr. Melvin O. Marriner is the senior pastor. For over twenty years Pastor Harris served as the Minister of Music at various churches throughout the Hampton Roads and North Carolina areas. From December 1999 to March 2006 he was employed by Hope House Foundation as a MR/MH Specialist assisting adults and children with disabilities, to live more productive lives in the surrounding communities. He currently is employed with The Christian Broadcasting Network as a Partner Services Representative, where he enjoys ministering the word of God to all that stand in need of spiritual guidance. He loves the Lord, his family and he loves helping people in any way he can. His spiritual motto is "If I can help somebody along the way, then my living shall not be in vain." He loves preaching and ministering God's word through song. Pastor Harris was licensed to preach the Gospel on January 9, 1994 at Little Bethel Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia by Dr. K.D. Shivers. He served for eight years at Little Bethel under Dr. Shivers as Minister of Music and four years as the Associate Minister. From December 2000 to November 2006 he served as the Minister of Music and Associate Minister of Solomons Temple, Smithfield, Virginia. On January 13, 2007 he received his Ecumenical Ordination at Mt. Ararat Christian Church, Suffolk, VA under the pastorate of Dr. H.H. Murrill, were Pastor Harris currently serves as the Minister of Music. After years as a servant and impeccable service unto the Lord, Pastor Harris was called by God to start a ministry where all people regardless of race, color, social or economical background could worship and praise God in an atmosphere of freedom and liberty. He is presently the founder and pastor of Greater Praise Community Church in the city of Suffolk, Virginia along with his devoted wife Deidra. Pastor Harris is an anointed man of God with a vision and he is truly a beacon of light to all touched by his ministry. |
